Less than 30 minutes from Owston Hall Hotel by car is the Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster.

There are over 500 animals and 100 species of mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians and invertebrates to see. Plus, there’s a daily timetable of what’s on, trails, ranger shows and events. Please use satnav DN9 3QY for the park entrance.

Only 15 minutes by car from Owston Hall Hotel is Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, a historic manor built in the 1860s for the Thellusson family.

Visit for statue walks, the Fern Dell Grotto and film locations: Brodsworth Hall was used for the BBC’s The Thirteenth Tale (2013), ITV’s Victoria (2016–2019), and for the films Testament of Youth (2014), and Darkest Hour (2017).

Cusworth Hall is a Grade I Listed country house in Cusworth, near Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

The hall was built between 1740 and 1744 for local landowner William Wrightson. Recent refurbishments to the Georgian manor have helped to preserve it and position it as Doncaster’s foremost social history museum.

If you’re travelling to Doncaster for football matches, conferences or events at the Eco-Power Stadium in Doncaster, stay at Owston Hall Hotel just 8 miles away (around 25 minutes by car or £20 in a taxi).

In 20 minutes (12 miles) by car from Owston Hall Hotel, you can reach Conisbrough Castle.

The English Heritage site has a famous keep, which is one of the most iconic landmarks in South Yorkshire. It was built around 1170 and was once held by William the Conqueror.

Conisbrough became a beautiful ruin in the 18th century and inspired Sir Walter Scott’s 19th-century novel Ivanhoe.

Doncaster Dome is hailed as one of ‘Doncaster’s leading sports, leisure and entertainment destinations’. It has over 50 activities available, including a 7-pool water world, soft play area, gym and fitness studio, and the UK’s only split-level ice rink.

The Dome is also a music, gig, and event venue. It is about 20-minute drive from Owston Hall Hotel and has plenty of on-site parking.

Doncaster Minster is the Anglican minster church in Doncaster city centre.

This beautiful Grade I-listed building, designed by architect George Gilbert Scott and built from 1854 to 1858, features the Great East Window and the eight minster bells.

Doncaster Minster is open for worship every Sunday at 11.00 am and Tuesdays at 12.30 pm.

The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum is where families of all ages can go to learn about Doncaster’s aviation heritage and see iconic aircraft up close.

Set on the site of the former RAF Doncaster, the museum is home to a vast collection of aircraft, from historical planes to modern jet aircraft. The site is 95% accessible and dog-friendly.
