How do we book our wedding or civil partnership at Owston Hall Hotel?

Civil marriages/partnerships are conducted by the Doncaster Registrars. Once you’ve reserved a date with us, you need to ensure the registrars have availability on the same date. Contact Doncaster Register Office direct for an appointment as soon as possible, Monday to Friday (8.30 am - 4.30 pm) on 01302 735222. There are fees payable direct to Doncaster Register Office for the marriage/partnership ‘notice’ and the ceremony itself. All information can be found online at www.doncaster.gov.uk

You can reserve a wedding date at Owston Hall Hotel for 14 days, after which time your reservation will be released automatically if we don’t receive your deposit. For weddings over 20 guests the deposit is £1250; for weddings 20 guests or fewer the deposit is £500. Please note all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Do we count ourselves in the wedding numbers?

Yes. Any wedding package needs to count you in the number of guests. Owston Hall Hotel can cater for up to 80 guests for a wedding reception and 100 for an evening party.

Does Owston Hall hold all the necessary licenses?

Yes, Owston Hall is an approved wedding venue and fully licensed for marriages/civil partnerships by the council registrars. We can host your non-religious ceremony, wedding reception and evening party. The hotel is licensed to sell alcohol until midnight for non-resident wedding guests and later for hotel residents, with music ending at 12:30am.

How many bedrooms do you have?

Owston Hall Hotel has 32 bedrooms in total and a wide choice of double or twin rooms (for double or single occupancy), suites and family rooms.

Yes, you will be allocated a preferential room rate for your wedding party, which can only be booked direct on 01302 722 800; the rate won’t be published anywhere else, e.g. other websites. Guests should quote their names and the wedding date when booking. Rooms are sold on a first come first serve basis. We can allocate specific bedrooms to your guests if you need us to, for example an accessible, family, ground-floor or dog-friendly room, or a suite.

 Bedroom check-in for wedding guests is from 3.00pm and check-out is 11.00am. An early check-in (from 1.00pm) or late check-out (to 1.00pm) may be available for a fee. Guests should call reservations for prices and to pre-book. We can store luggage for guests outside of these times.

Is there a room where the bridal party can get changed?

If you’re getting married at Owston Hall Hotel, you will be allocated a bedroom or private dining room for the morning of your wedding for the bridal party to get ready. Many brides/grooms choose to book a room (or the bridal suite) the night before their wedding as their changing room.

I only want a small wedding; do you cater for this?

Yes, we have wedding packages specifically designed for small or large weddings and Owston Hall Hotel is a premier wedding venue in Doncaster for either. See our small wedding package.

Are there any minimum number requirements?

Yes, for a Saturday we require a minimum of 50 day guests. However, we look to remain as flexible as possible throughout the rest of the week.

How many weddings does Owston Hall host per day?

Only one, regardless of whether yours is a large or small wedding.

Can we provide our own food & drink?

Sorry no – all catering, food and beverages must be provided by Owston Hall Hotel and we don’t offer a corkage service. We operate a strict policy of not permitting any alcohol to be brought onto the property or into the bedrooms; any evidence of such will result in immediate confiscation and a fee chargeable to you, as listed in the contract you sign when booking your wedding. We won’t tolerate the use of any illegal drugs or narcotics by any person on the premises. Any illegal drugs found on any persons or on the premises will result in us notifying the police immediately.

Can I bring my own decorations?

Yes, feel free to bring table gifts or decorations to the hotel the day before your wedding and we will store them for you. Remember, you may not have access to your function room until the morning of your wedding so you should arrange for a venue dresser (or a creative family member/friend) to dress your room for you. Our team can put simple table/room decorations/gifts out for you if you provide clear instructions and plenty of notice. Please avoid attaching any decorations to the walls.

Are we allowed fireworks at Owston Hall?

Due to our proximity to residential and agricultural land, we do not permit fireworks as standard at Owston Hall Hotel.
